Why Crooked Road Counseling?
Our society places a lot of value on being happy all the time. I’m certain that is not a reasonable expectation. “No Bad Days”? Not realistic. Life is a crooked road, and we don’t know what is around the bend.
I believe the key to navigating what life throws at you is resilience with a foundation of a strong sense of identity and values, connection to community, a sense of meaning and purpose, knowledge of what brings you joy, and ACCEPTANCE. The crooked path in the Buddhist tradition refers to learning through mistakes, accepting and embracing imperfection, and acknowledging that growth and improvement can occur even as life remains messy and unpredictable.

Howdy, I’m Kirstin! Sometimes we just need a person to listen to us and reflect on and explore patterns and beliefs that are blocking us from experiencing growth and joy. My approach to therapy is eclectic (utilizing evidence based practices like Attachment, IFS, CBT, Solution Focused, Family systems, and more) and works best for folks who are open and ready to really work on personal goals. Together we will discover the frameworks that most closely fit with how you make sense of your world and experiences.
